RE:  Coronavirus Preparedness at Fairview

With concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) heightened throughout the nation, Fairview is closely following Best Practices outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.   Infection control has always been a top priority of our organization and our dedication to providing a safe environment for our residents is unwavering.  We want to assure residents, family members and our greater community that we are sensitive to their concerns, and that the safety and security of those in our care remains our greatest priority.

 What Our Community Is Doing

  • Requesting visitors not to visit if they have symptoms of respiratory infection.
  • Working to ensure a healthy workforce through appropriate prevention practices, and encouraging employees to stay home if they are sick.
  • Assessing residents’ symptoms of respiratory infection.
  • Maintaining appropriate infection prevention practices throughout the community.

Symptoms of Respiratory Infection, Including COVID-19

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

Further Information for Family Members

  • We are keeping residents and employees consistently informed, including being readily available to answer any questions residents or family members may have.
  • Every day we are monitoring residents for fever or respiratory symptoms, and putting appropriate restrictions in place.
  • Our community is supporting hand and respiratory hygiene, as well as cough etiquette by residents, visitors, and employees, per CDC guidelines.
  • In your visits to our communities you may see staff members and others wearing facemasks, eye protection, gowns, and gloves. Please do not be alarmed; these are strictly precautionary measures enacted to ensure our residents’ safety.

We appreciate your concern for the welfare of our community as well as your cooperation in helping us keep our residents, patients and community safe and healthy.  We will continue to communicate developments regarding Covid-19 as warranted.
