Independent Living

As part of Fairview's mission, we strive to inspire individuals to live their best lives by embracing our culture of independence, compassion and community.

Life Plan Community Expansion

Vista Point will elevate the standard for retirement living in Southeastern Connecticut. Our lifestyle will feature seamless access to care, if ever needed.

Fairview was founded in 1892 by the Connecticut Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge as a non-profit provider of senior housing and healthcare. Today, our 70-acre campus on the Groton, Connecticut, waterfront features a number of facilities — providing rehabilitation services and options for independent living. Although membership in the Odd Fellows is no longer required for admission, we are still guided by the organization’s principles of friendship, love, and truth.

Fairview's Core Values

Fairview was founded in 1892 by the Odd Fellows, an altruistic society organized for the purpose of giving aid to those in need and pursuing projects for the benefit of all mankind. The Odd Fellows set out to promote the ethics of reciprocity and charity, and they were founded on the pillars of friendship, love and truth. Today, those three pillars still guide our organization.

Points of Differentials

Welcoming All, Then and Now

Fairview was founded by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) in 1892. Since the beginning, we’ve always affirmed that we will not discriminate against any individual based on disability, age (other than the minimum age for residency), ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, or any other social identity.

Simply put, we openly welcome all and are a safe place for everyone to call home. That’s been true for over 130 years, and it always will be.

Fairview’s Waterfront View

Fairview sits right on the water, offering beautiful, calming views of the Thames River. Our peaceful coastal setting adds natural beauty and charm to daily life for everyone who lives and visits here.

Locally Led, Nonprofit Care

Fairview is a proud nonprofit organization guided by local leadership. Our mission—not profit—drives every decision we make. With community-rooted leaders who understand the needs of the people we serve, we’re able to focus on providing exceptional care, meaningful support, and a true sense of home for our residents.
